Frankston City Council waned to go mobile (Android | iOS) with their Visit Frankston app. Pace Advertising (The lovely place I work) decided to go with the hybrid approach using Cordova. Yeah, these days everyone wants to go mobile. Because everyone knows how important to be inside your pocket and take advantage of push notifications, use the power of smartphones to promote the business or the organisation.
I was able to contribute to the project along with Budda (The tech guru :*) as a leading developer.
The challenging part was to go live before Christmas, with their tons of requirements liaising with the third-party developers to retrieve data for the app from the Joomla website the council already had. Ah, last but not least, should mention the hassle with Cordova for iOS. With all the burden to build a .apk (app file) with some Cordova plugins, CocoaPods etc.
But glad we achieved it successfully. Thanks, team, Budda, Nick and Sophi (Lovely Pace Team for Frankston)
